The Biscotti scarf is one of our patterns in the Musa essentials collection—a simple and adaptable pattern for all levels. You can do it both with our Merino Fingering or in Fingering.

 

The Biscotti scarf can be worked in Merino Fingering or Fingering.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

 

One size. The scarf can vary depending on the base yarn you use, your tension, and any modifications you make to the pattern.

You can easily adjust the length of the scarf to make it even warmer and cosier or a short necktie project. Remember that this will affect the amount of material you need.

 

Total length (unstretched): 180 cm / 70".

Total width (unstretched): 25 cm / 10".

The measurements are only indicative.

 

Recommended yarn: Musa, Merino Fingering; 100% Merino superwash; 200 m / 219 yds, 50 g.

 

9 balls of MUSA Yarn Merino Fingering.

 

C1-Colour 1: 9 balls of Musa Merino Fingering 09 Spicy mustard #mustard yellow

 

Yarn Alternative: Musa, Merino Fingering; 100% Merino superwash; 100 m / 109 yds, 50 g. Approximately the same number of balls.

 

Needles: 3.5mm/40cm [US 4/16"] circular or straight needles or weight needed to obtain correct tension.

Gauge: 20 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4"] garter stitch knit FLAT,  after blocking.

 

Being a scarf, the tension is not essential, but it can change the thread requirements if it does not fit correctly.

 

CONSTRUCTION

This scarf is worked seamlessly back and forth (flat). You work in the split rib pattern until you achieve the desired length. You can finish your scarf with fringes if you prefer.

 

TECHNIQUES

 

Long-tail Cast-on.

Standard Bind Off.

 

Broken Rib Stitch:

Row 1 (RS): knit to the end.

Row 2 (WS): *P1, K1* rep from *-* to the end.
